Google Profile
Since elearning is all new to me I choose Ed.Tech Support and Rapid elearning blogs. I found that thre is so much support out there it is mind boggling. Trying to find one that suits my needs is an excursion into uncharted territory.I did explore Qwiki. com and found that to be very interesting, but plain old google is fine for me also.I think if one has the time and energy to explore all the sites one will become a front runner. But as for now, I will stay with the tried and true. I also checked the Rapid elearning blog and in this day and age of instant this and that, this site would be quite helpful. It also had some fine tutorials, that I found interesting. You can find me in Google Profile. You can also follow me on Google Reader.

Philosophy
Goals, assessments, evaluations and outcomes are research. What I plan to do is take the assessment and evaluations and research my outcomes. My goals are to mold unsuspecting adult learners into finely tuned respiratory therapists. To do this, I assess their skills and evaluate what has worked with past classes and what needs improvement. I can change class schedules, lectures and proficiencies to meet the new students’ needs. Then reevaluate and reassess the outcomes and make changes accordingly. It’s a continuing process that changes with the improvements in health care. My goals and outcomes need to match those improvements.

Locus of Control Survey
My score of 14 on the survey puts me in the center of the survey. I am both internal and external. Internal is personal empowerment and have and optimistic outlook. What a better outcome for a teacher who starts each year with students who know absolutely nothing and turning them into competenent respiratory therapists. Talk about power and optimism. The survey also states that I have external outcomes, which leans toward victimized or done to. Not real sure how that figures into things just yet. I'm thinking that this might br something in the past. While taking the survey I had questions re several of the questions. They were not black and white but in a real grey area. I found those to be the 'fillers' I agree with the end results. I have taken the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator survey during my Bach.days. I was an 'SJ" a sensing judgement behavior which falls a little into the empowerment and optimism factors. This awareness of these personal characteristics keeps me up beat and optimistic about my students' progress. I also have the power to control their destiny, which is quite frightening at times so I stay level headed.

Learning styles test
I found I was dead on. I am primarily a physical (kinesthetic) and visual learner.I found that in my field of health careers that hands on and demonstration is the best way to get the point across. In our field we must practice what we preach and must be able to perform in a clinical setting, using equipment that needs to be assembled. The audience doesn't really matter as the field requires audience participation. I have been in the health care field for 25+ years and I never stop learning and the more hand-on demonstartions the better.
Learning styles
I have taken different learning style tests when I was working on my BS in TechEd., although I can't remember their names. However, I found to be a visual, physical and sometimes a social learner. I found through experience that if I can see it and touch it , put it together taking it apart helps with my own learning. I also found that group learning really helps picking other people's brains and their techniques for learning. Over the years I have used most forms of learning, but these are my favorite.
